Ralph Beutter

Starting his career with HDI in Germany back in 1987 on the direct insurance side, Ralph spent more than 17 years working in the facultative Division at Hannover Re dealing with essentially all Lines of Business (apart from Space & Aviation). For the last 10 years Ralph dealt both with Single Risk and Agency Business in his managerial role heading up one of the Hannover Re facultative departments. In January 2012 Ralph joined Inter Hannover as Chief Underwriting Officer and member of the Executive Board. Ralph's duties overarch both the Single Risk and Agency portfolios. Ralph has very relevant experience in underwriting and developing business opportunities and competencies in both portfolios and Inter Hannover anticipates significant benefits from the co-ordination and underwriting skills. Since 01.01.2015 Ralph is the Chief Executive Officer of Inter Hannover.

Thomas Stöckl

Thomas started his career at a Big-4 audit and accounting firm in 2000 with a focus on the audit of insurance and reinsurance companies. After 5 years working and passing the German CPA exam he became Manager. In this role he was responsible for the conduct of audits and finance-related projects. One of the areas of his responsibilities was assessing internal control systems. Thomas has been working for the Hannover Re Group since October 2013 as a General Manager and has since then been actively involved in the project of the re-domicile of Inter Hannover, mainly with the setup of the Finance & Accounting, Planning & Controlling and the Transformation Management functions. He became a member of the Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer of Inter Hannover as of January 2015.

Andreas Bierschenk

Andreas started his career in the Hannover Re Group in 1997. After 5 years working in the actuarial non-life department and developing standards and tools for profitability measurement he assumed responsibility for Underwriting Controlling of the Group’s P&C business within Group Controlling Services. In 2006 he became General Manager for Business Group Controlling for P&C as well as Life & Health reinsurance and was responsible for the implementation of Hannover Re’s Value Based Management Approach. Since January 2014 Andreas has been actively involved in the project of the re-domicile of Inter Hannover, mainly with the setup of the Risk Management, Actuarial and Compliance functions in the new office. He became a member of the Executive Board and Chief Risk Officer of Inter Hannover as of January 2015.

Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor has worked in the UK insurance industry for more than 30 years, specialising in UK industrial and commercial and multinational insurance business. During this time Richard has worked for CIGNA and AIG before joining Gerling in 1988 where he has spent the majority of his career. By 1995 Richard was appointed UK Property Underwriting Manager and in 2003 became a Director of Gerling UK, responsible for all UK Property and Engineering lines of business. In 2005 Richard’s responsibilities where extended to the Lloyds entity and he was appointed to both the Gerling at Lloyds Limited and Gerling Corporate Capital Limited Board’s as Director / Deputy Underwriter. During the period 2002 to 2007 Richard was also responsible for Marketing for both the UK branch and Lloyd’s operation.

Richard was then appointed by the Board of HDI-Gerling Versicherung A.G. as the UK representative and Managing Director of the HDI-Gerling Industrial Insurance Co – UK Branch and HDI-Gerling UK Ltd. In 2010 Richard’s responsibilities have been extended to include the branch operation in Ireland.

In 2016 HDI-Gerling Industrie Versicherung AG converted to a European Joint-Stock Company (SE) and the company’s name changed to HDI Global SE.

On 1st August 2018 Richard was appointed to the Executive Board of Inter Hannover as Chief Marketing Officer.

Mats Westerborn

Mats has over 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He joined the insurance business in the mid-1980’s as a trainee within Skandia International in Stockholm. He quickly became an Underwriter, and subsequently the General Manager, of the Excess of Loss Treaty Reinsurance department with a world-wide responsibility. He has also spent some years in the UK as an Underwriting Manager for Skandia International’s operations in the London Market. From 1998 and onwards Mats founded his own company, drawing from his management and IT skills and experience. After he sold the company, Mats was recruited as a Project Manager at KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology) and Stockholm University. In 2009, Mats returned to the field of insurance as the Head of Treaty Reinsurance in the Scandinavian Branch of Hannover Re. In 2017 Mats was promoted to General Manager for the highly skilled and very successful Aviation Department of Inter Hannover and as from 1.1.2019 Mats holds the position as Managing Director for HDI Global Specialty Scandinavian Branch.
